A sell-out summer, a sales increase of 12% and a hot reception for a market newcomer has given premium barbecue supplier Outback UK reason to celebrate after a move to a new warehouse and office base at the start of this year.
“Our own 12,000 sq ft warehouse and offices at Hereford has space for future expansion, and follows the consolidation of a new manufacturing base by our Chinese partners and long-time suppliers TPA Metals and Machinery at Dongguan.
“With these developments in place, we were delighted to see our barbecue range achieve record consumer demand during the Spring and Summer – including a positive reception for our new Trekker barbecue, specifically designed with the outdoor camping, caravan, static and motor home enthusiast in mind”, said Outback chief executive Mark Osborne.
Garden centre, multi-store and off-line Outback trade customers had already added the Trekker to their portfolios since its launch at this year’s NEC Solex Exhibition, while the new barbecue would also be promoted by the company’s logistics and distribution partner Unipart Leisure & Marine, he said.
Powered by a 5kg lpg container, the British-designed Trekker can be assembled in 15 minutes and stowed away in 10, while cooks can use the boiling pan stand, reversible frying/ griddle plate or the grill to serve up a variety of menus.
